Microsurgical Cervical Laminoplasty

Microsurgical cervical laminoplasty is a minimally invasive technique for decompression of the spinal cord. By using operating microscopes in spinal surgery, Dr. Singh is able to work through a smaller incision and with greater safety because of his visualization of nerves and the spinal cord during spinal surgery. Dr. Singh dissects and preserves the lamina and spinous process muscles on both sides of the spinal column. The structures that are compressing the spinal cord are trimmed and Dr. Singh places a small spacer that he has helped design increasing the space available for the nerve roots and spinal cord.
