Dr. Kern Singh speaks and present research at The Society for Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery (SMISS) Annual Forum 2023
The Society for Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery (SMISS) held their annual meeting in October 2023 in Las Vegas. The conference has been promoting emerging techniques and cutting-edge advancements in the dynamic field of minimally invasive spine surgery since the early 2000s. At this year’s forum, spine surgeons, researchers, and healthcare professionals from around the world attended and presented impressive novel studies and insights for improved patient outcomes.
As a member of the prestigious group of spine surgeons in attendance, Dr. Kern Singh was invited to present his extensive research comparing postoperative clinical outcomes in patients undergoing surgery in various surgical settings with differing symptom presentations, baseline mental and physical health, and insurance statuses. Dr. Kern Singh and his research team presented outcomes from studies of several surgical procedures such as lumbar decompression, lateral lumbar interbody fusion, transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion, and cervical disc replacement.
Dr. Kern Singh and his research team were selected to present the following 24 poster presentations and 3 podium presentations:
- Ambulatory versus Hospital Setting Effect on PROMIS and Legacy Outcomes in Lumbar Decompression
- Correlative Study of the 9-item Patient Health Questionnaire Compared with PROMIS Mental Health Outcomes in a Lumbar Decompression Cohort
- Do Six Week Postoperative Patient-Reported Outcomes Predict Long-Term Clinical Outcomes Following Lumbar Decompression?
- Does Obesity Influence Outcomes of Primary, Single-Level Lateral Lumbar Interbody Fusion?
