Dr. Kern Singh
Dr. Kern Singh is a trusted thought leader in Minimally Invasive and Endoscopic Outpatient Spine Surgery. Dr. Singh has dedicated his career to pioneering minimally invasive and endoscopic outpatient spine surgery. He is the Vice Chair of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery. In addition, he is the Professor and Director of the Division of Spine Surgery at RUSH University Medical Center and a Co-Director of the Minimally Invasive Spine Institute. Dr. Singh is also an award-winning researcher, having published over 500+ articles and book chapters, over 15 textbooks, and has given over 500+ lectures in the field of spinal surgery. Dr. Singh’s groundbreaking research work has most recently won awards at the North American Spine Society (NASS) and Society of Minimally Invasive Spinal Surgery (SMISS) annual meetings.
Dr. Singh is also extensively involved in designing new, cutting-edge instrumentation for use in spinal procedures utilized by spinal surgeons around the world. Dr. Singh has developed products including an award-winning Artificial Intelligence (AI) machine learning ultrasound-based software algorithm that helps map spinal nerves during minimally invasive lateral based spinal procedures. Dr. Singh has also helped design and patented spinal instrumentation including lumbar pedicle screws and cervical laminoplasty plates that surgeons from all over the United States and the world currently utilize in spinal surgery.
Dr. Singh has been intimately involved in the training of spinal surgery fellows for the past 20 years. Many of these fellowship trained spine surgeons are now leaders in major academic institutions across the United States.
